Final Thoughts on the Yamaha Tenere 700

It’s been a little over a year since Yamaha released the highly anticipated Tenere 700 and in that time, we’ve seen a lot of these bikes out on the trails. With so many of them out there, we figured it was time to do a final thoughts article on this bike.

We’ll start with what we like about the bike. First and foremost, the engine is extremely smooth and quite powerful. It’s easy to get up to speed on this bike and maintain that speed thanks to the torquey motor. The bike is also very well-balanced and easy to ride. It’s not too big or too small, making it a great option for a wide range of riders.

The Tenere 700 is also a great value. For under $10,000, you get a bike that’s capable of taking on just about anything you throw at it. That’s a pretty amazing price for such a well-rounded bike.

Now, for what we don’t like so much about the Tenere 700. First, the fuel tank could be larger. We’ve found that you can get about 160km (100 miles) out of a tank of gas, which isn’t awful but it could be better. Second, the wind protection isn’t great. The fairing does a decent job but it could be taller and wider. Lastly, the stock tires are just okay. They work well enough but we think they could be better.

Overall, we like the Yamaha Tenere 700. It’s a great all-around bike that’s reasonably priced and a blast to ride. If you’re in the market for a new adventure bike, we highly recommend giving the Tenere 700 a look.
